Vagabondism #204

204 I think most people read scripture to affirm what they’ve been told, not to discover what they haven’t.

I'm going to say here, DB, I'm both; I do try to back up with scripture things I've been told, but I have discovered lots that no one has told me by reading Scripture

important thing is, at least for me, is to read Scripture

Excuse me while I reduce your words into their separate components.
1.I think...Really? Do you encompass others in your thoughts or just think alone?
2. most people read scripture to affirm what they have been told...
We all seek comfort because we all suffer pain. We hopefully find comfort for our soul in our search and listen to every knowledge that leads to wisdom.
3..not to discover what they haven't...
Let the future judge the present only while it remembers the ignorance of the past.
And let any judge stand throughout time for truth.

there's a lot I have discovered by reading the scripture. it's more than affirmation.
